The biggest message that I have been getting from the Chosen People course is that each nation and each person has a specific role to fill and is held accountable for how well they fill that role. That message is comforting because you only have to compete against your potential not with anyone else.

Do we really have very different spiritual battles than goyim? Do they not have the same struggles to do the right and moral things on a daily basis? Are they not motivated to become better people - bain adam l'chaveiro?  Do they not have a human yearning to connect and do the will of G-d?  In dealing with goyim I see that they are really different - are they "programmed" differently or does it have to do with upbringing?

I don't have an answer to Seema's question but I do think it is important to remember that just like their are all kinds of Jews there are all kinds of goyim. Jews come from all differant cultural backgrounds and goyim come from even more differant backgrounds. But most importantly with Jews and goyim each person is a unique individual created in Hashem's tzelem and Demut.
