2 things really struck me about this shiur.

1) The Gadol (I don't remember who) that had the Rabbeim travel by train an Shabbat because of the urgency of the Rabbis meeting.

2) That when Rav Kotler got off the train he immediately got down to business about the Jews in Europe.

Both these examples point to the absolute seriousness of the situation in Europe t the time. Something I cannot even begin to imagine.

There is also a story told about R' Avraham Kalmonowitz who literally fainted in shul trying to raise money for the Jews who were trapped during the Holocaust.
