It just struck me that all the people that Rabbi Gershtenkorn convinced to settle in Bnei Brak could have thought in the begining that they had made a mistake. It is only in hindsight when the Holocaust swept through Europe that they realized he had saved their lives.

Admittedly, I'm rather ignorant of much of this history and have appreciated the opportunity to learn more about it but a similar thought crossed my mind while listening to the lesson this week. It makes you wonder how our lives are shaped even on much smaller things.

Most of all, I've enjoy the ability to learn about this entire era. Outside of a few of the more notable "mainstream media" productions, this is an entire chapter of history that is completely new to me and has inspired me to learn much more.
