On the one hand Reb Chaim was very particular about not wasting a single nanosecond of his precious time, but on the other hand he always had time to give to others. How, according to you, would one be able to make out whether the time one gives to others is used in a proper way, or whether it is only the Yetzer Hore telling you that this is a worthwhile cause?

I think if a person really needs to work on himself to devote this slot of time for this particular cause it is a sign that he is doing the right thing as the yetzer horah usually gives the person a hard time when he is trying to to the right thing.
