In this shiur, it was explained how Yaakov received extra human strength to lift the rock off the well in order that he should be able to perform an act of chesed.

On first thought, one would think that Yaakov should not have even tried to lift the stone as it would not have been humanly possible. However, it seems that Hashem waits for a person to make that first little step and this opens the wells of bracha and divine assistance.
