Rabbi Cohen brings out the point that this world must be temporary as there must be a purpose for the pain in this world.
I think if a person would truly realize that this world is finite, there would be very little room for pain as a person recognizes that all is from Hashem who is completely good and that the pain will pass just as a person's life will pass.
