Rabbi Bechofer said that the yetzer hara is like a blemish and does not have any existance on it's own.  It's like a blemish - it's not "active existance".  Then he said that sickness is also not "active existance". That the sickness is a "hole in your health".  My question is - wouldn't cancer have an active existance?  Isn't it it's own entity?  It can't survive outside of the human, but it's something that is attacking the person's body.

Thank you,
Jenna
