I noted with interest your comments on Rav Mordechai Shakovitzky. I am among his followers who was left behind in Johannesburg. I still have fairly regular contact with his rebbitzin & every year, when in town, his son is our house guest. I feel I ust say that the Rav left because it was very difficult to give his children the hashkofas he wanted & that is always a very difficult  & personal decision. For all that he was here only a few short years, he succeded in building an amazing infrastructure & has surely been rewarded for that. What a pity that many of the present generation in Johannesburg are unaware of him or what he did achieve.
