I wonder why women have a strong need to receive? I happened to read this in "Men are from Mars, Women are form Venus." It's interesting.

When Hashem created woman he created a being who Adam could give to in that way Adam could emulate Hashem and be created in His image.

I think that Edith's answer while true can not be the whole story because women are also betzelem hashem. I don't have an answer to this.
Separately, does Hashem receive? Does Hashem receive are tefillot and Mitzvot and, bezrat Hashem soon, our korbanot, just because it is good for us to give or do we fulfill some kind of "need" or desire of his?

Of course we don't fulfill a need of Hashem. As we know, Hashem has no needs.

In answer to why women were created to receive, I just heard a shiur today where the lecturer explained that sometimes receiving is also a form of giving in that the person who is giving feels fulfilled through the person who is willing to receive.
