I think that it is amazing how Rabbi David is able to read through the Navi and reveal the structure in the perakim and throughout the sefer.  Can anyone explain to me what the goal of figuring out the structure of the pesukim, prakim, etc. is, though. I noticed that Rabbi David does the same thing when he teaches Tehillim.   Obviously, it is not just to see the 'literary beauty' of the sefer.  There must be more to it...what is it?

I think there is a value in appreciating the beauty of the words in Neviim and K'suvim. Our holy books are written in an engaging, beautiful style.

In Tanach the form has meaning. That means the literary structures mean something and teachs us things. These structures are there  for reasons beyond the practicality of writing. For example, in tehillim words that are parallel to each other generally mean the same thing. This is like having a peirush on some of the words built into the actual mizmor. But even more so if we understand this we can understand the mizmor in a much deeper level.

In addition the amazing structure of tanach can be awe inspiring. It certainly is to me. And as Rav David discusses in Tehillim 1 Class 2 on Perek 19, awe of the Torah is a major way to come to emunah.

For a great example of when the structure of a unit of Tanach illustrates its meaning watch Tehillim 1 Class 4 on Perek 2. The last third or so of the shiur really addresses this. To really see it make sure to follow along on the source sheet were Rabbi David has squared and circled words.
