Shira spoke about something that has always bothered me.  Many orthodox people get caught up in the details and lose track of the big picture. When we say Hashem's name in blessings, we should really concentrate on what we are saying and not just try to say it as fast as we can.

I agree that the challenge of bringing Hashem into our lives is an enormous one despite the fact that we spend so much time and effort on the performance of Mitzvot. It seems to be a result of the western culture in which we live- where the "product" receives more attention than the "process". In other words, the action is focused upon whereas the thoughts and intentions behind the action are not regarded. As Mrs. Smiles pointed out, in Judaism there is a tremendous focus on connecting to Hashem through the Mitzvot...
