We discussed the importance of diminishing the I, and "stepping out of one's self". What small steps can be taken in order to improve interactions we have with others, keeping this important idea in mind?

Shira Smiles suggested we listen well enogh that the other person can hear themselves. The conversation should not always be about ourselves. Also when we do chesed we should be sensitive to do what the other person wants not what we think they need or want.

As discussed in the class, listening is a very powerful tool. Active listening requires us to still our own thoughts and impressions and focus exclusively on the other. It is soooo difficult to learn and master but it is really a big step towards improving interactions.
