Blaming the ills of society on the family circumstances of the people who perpetrated the crimes indicates that we have not learnt from the lessons of the Holocaust. Discuss this in light of this class..


Rabbi Teller elaborates on the idea of free choice in this class. Blaming evil acts on extenuating circumstances is not taking responsiblity for ones actions. The Nazis y'sh were fully responsible for their crimes and no outside circumstances can ever excuse the heinous acts they committed against the Jews.
