The Five Megillot are part of the Ketuvim ("the Writings"), which are the third main section of the Tanach. These five megillot are: Shir HaShirim (the Song of Songs), Megillat Ruth (the Book of Ruth), Eicha (Lamentations), Kohelet (Ecclesiastes) and Megillat Esther (the Book of Esther).

Each Megillah is read on a specific Jewish holiday. Shir HaShirim is read on the Shabbat of Passover, Megillat Ruth is read on Shavuot, Eichah is read on Tisha B'Av (the 9th of the month of Av), Kohelet is read on the Shabbat of Sukkot, and Megillat Esther is read twice on Purim (once in the evening and once in the morning).
