Mrs. Shira Smiles |
| In this short vort, Mrs. Shira Smiles discusses this week's parsha, Parshat Mattot-Masei. In this shiur, she speaks about how the tribes of Reuven and Gad wanted to settle by the Jordan river for the sake of their children. G-d blessed them with lots of cattle and it was therefore through taking care of their cattle that they served G-d. But, we must not lose focus that our children take precedence over everything. Mrs. Shira Smiles |
| Mrs. Shira Smiles describes The Three Weeks of Mourning as a time when we observe laws of mourning in lieu of the destruction of the Temple. On a personal level we reflect on how the divine presence is in exile from ourselves. We must focus on our connection to Hashem during this time. This Torah class is available in streaming video. |

Mrs. Shira Smiles |
| According to the Torah in Parshat Balak, a good eyed people are the disciples of Avraham Avenu. A person can be involved in chesed all day, but if he or she has an evil eye he/she will not benefit from this chesed and the next world. If chesed comes out of selfishness then it is not true chesed. We must try to be like Avraham Avenu and do chesed completely for others. Available online in streaming video. |

Mrs. Shira Smiles |
| We learn in the Torah that Yaakov "took" the blessing from Yitzchak on the Seder night. Mrs. Shira Smiles discusses how, during this time, we need to tap into the tremendous blessings that are ready to be bestowed upon us by G-d and his accompanying angels. The Seder night is a time to daven, pray for our children and for future generations. |
